Project Al-Haq is a specialist legal-forensic consultancy based at the University of West London’s School of Forensic Sciences.
Established in collaboration with Arora Lodhi Heath Solicitors, leading barristers, and former senior police officers, Medical experts the project is dedicated to investigating post-conviction appeals and supporting complex and serious criminal cases across England and Wales.
Our current forensic division is led by exceptional forensic science scholars Josh Hossain , Leonesa Shabani, Salma Gawad, and Drs Salina Khan , Imran Khan ( Wolfson College University of Cambridge) working under the guidance of highly experienced former law-enforcement professionals, including a Retired Detective Chief Inspector and Retired Detective Sergeant, formerly of Merseyside Police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency.
Together, this formidable team is actively engaged in one of the largest and most intricate legal investigations ever undertaken within this jurisdiction: the Europol-assisted, National Crime Agency operation involving live encrypted communication interceptions , widely known as Operation Venetic.
Blending rigorous investigative methodology with legal insight and cutting-edge forensic expertise, Project Al-Haq restores the specialist support that defence teams have long been deprived of due to chronic under-funding and legal aid erosion.
